This interdisciplinary tectonic studio at UW was focused on addressing acute and chronic health needs relating to disaster relief. The Health Hinge proposes to use the standard dimensions of a shipping container to deploy a sanitary clinic core that could expand upon and adapted to a local site. Materials and climate strategies used were focused on adapting to a tropical climate, where a large portion of the world’s natural disasters and areas of extreme poverty intersect.
